Still on the wagon!

July 2, 2008

It’s a little over three months since I first started to lose the excess bulk. I’m down 35 pounds – including 3.4 pounds this last week. My clothes are fitting better and I feel great. I did catch myself sliding back into the old self-damaging routine of fast food, but I put a stop to that.

I’ve hit the gym hard the last couple weeks and got a chance to catch up with my old trainer. On a depressing note, I learned that he has been recalled to marines and is being sent back to Iraq. He was working out in preparation of the training he will get before heading overseas. I wish him luck and hope he takes care of himself.

Alright, I have my next weight-in tomorrow.  Last week I lost no pounds.  That’s right – goose egg.  A little disappointing…but I was traveling and eating out of a hotel room.  Before the diet I would have gained a couple pounds.  So, I’ll take it as a moral victory.

To help accellerate things I started working out again.  I think I should be back on track this week.

For lunch I wanted something other than a salad or sandwich.  I’d been living on them for about a week now.  I found a restraunt and ordered a lunch that was 570 cal with 9 grams of fat.   It included a salad, come cooked veggies and shrimp.  It had some rice, but, I skipped the rice.  I estimated about 3 grams of fiber because of all the veggies for a whopping 12 points.  Still better than a whopper with cheese, x-large fries and a large coke.  The combo meal would be about 30 points.

On the road weight-in

April 1, 2008

This week I’m traveling for work.  There was a weight watchers meeting a couple blocks from where I am for the day.  I joined a quick meeting and got weighted.  I lost another 1.2 pounds.  Not too shabby.

Watching what I eat while on the road can be difficult.  So far, I’ve avoided the burger and fry joints.  However, 3 taco bell tacos (fresco style) is only 9 points…so, I indulged for lunch.
