For lunch I wanted something other than a salad or sandwich.  I’d been living on them for about a week now.  I found a restraunt and ordered a lunch that was 570 cal with 9 grams of fat.   It included a salad, come cooked veggies and shrimp.  It had some rice, but, I skipped the rice.  I estimated about 3 grams of fiber because of all the veggies for a whopping 12 points.  Still better than a whopper with cheese, x-large fries and a large coke.  The combo meal would be about 30 points.

I’m not sure how it happen – I managed to make it through Easter dinner without going over my points.  I ended up bearly eating in the morning.  Mostly because I was waiting for the food to be ready.  I managed to pick the foods that were better choices.  Turkey over the baked dish; Bread without butter; and only a small piece of ham.  I’ve 8 points left and I’m gnawing on carrots before dinner.  Yay me!

Damn you buffet!

Every Thursday I have a luncheon meeting with the local Rotary club. It’s a great organization…with a great buffet. Last week I skipped the meeting so that I could skip the meal. I figured it would not be wise to place a newly dieting man in front of a vat of beef tips and hope goes wrong.

This week I returned to the meeting and did fairly well.  I made a modest turkey sandwich and skipped the damaging choices.  But, I was disappointed to learn that they didn’t have low-fat salad dressing. *sigh*
