I decided to start acting like a skinny person.   The idea is that if I act slimmer it will help me to become slimmer.  Think of it as an extension of the “fake it until you make it” philosophy.  Don’t worry, I plan to only use this technique in areas that might help me towards my goal.  For example, I don’t plan to start shopping at the gap anytime soon.  I’m not delusional enough to think I can force myself into a size 38 jeans by shear willpower.

So, I thought about the things that skinny people do and don’t do.  For example, skinny people are less likely to spend time at the local buffet.  So, I’ll pretend to be a skinny and do the same.  Also, skinny people seem to do a lot of moving around – running, swimming and those sort of things.  So, I decided to try running.

I’ve never been much of a runner.  My friends in college and highschool would say I’m “build for comfort, not speed.”  Like all my new endevors, I started my research by hitting Google.  I found a article written just for the skinny wantabes like me.  The Couch-to-5K Running Plan

I’ve been walking a lot the last few months.  So, I was a bit ahead of the curve with this program.  I’ve been following it for a couple weeks and I feel great.  A few more weeks and I can call this an officialy good habbit.  Also, I started looking for a locak 5K event to run this fall.
